Festival for Young Performers

FAQs

I would like my child to participate, but I’m unsure which section is appropriate.

Your child’s peripatetic teacher will be able to assist you. If you have any difficulties or further questions, please contact youngperformers@somerset.qld.edu.au and festival staff can guide you further.

My child is in a group but I only want to pay for my child’s entry. Am I able to do this?

Unfortunately due to the large number of entries received, we are unable to take part payment for group entries. These entries must be submitted on one entry form with one payment. It is best to liaise with your child’s teacher or fellow parents to coordinate group bookings.

Which day is my child performing? I can only do Sunday due to another commitment.

The Somerset Festival for Young Performers is a two-day event. Whilst every consideration is given to special requests made at the time of registration, unfortunately we are unable to guarantee the performance day due to the large number of entries.

Can you please tell me when my child will be performing?

The programme is finalised approximately three to four weeks before the festival. An email is sent to all participants notifying them the programme is available for free download from the festival website.

My child is performing and I wish to purchase tickets to watch. Who needs a spectator pass?

Spectators will have free admission in 2017.

Is there food and drink available at the Festival?

There is a central hub at the Somerset Festival for Young Performers where food and drink is available. The Clef Café, along with various food vendors, is open from 8.00am to 2.00pm each day.
