Renovations to The Lamb Building are complete and the Head of Junior School, along with Mrs Brenda Millian, Mr Troy Zernike and administrative staff, Mrs Louise Woods and Mrs Linda Keefer have moved into this lovely new Junior School Reception.

The Gallus and Cordner Buildings renovations are well underway and will be a smart new resource in 2016, completing the upgrade of Senior School classrooms.

We welcome Ms Tayla Haynes, B Visual Media, Dip Graphic Design, who joined the Events team earlier this month as an Administrative Assistant – Events. Tayla has a range of administrative and graphic design experience including as Personal Assistant to Queensland Manager / Graphic Design at Hudson Building Supplies and most recently with Copy Inn Pty Ltd as Administration Officer / Receptionist.

We bid farewell to a number of colleagues who will not be returning in 2016: we thank Ms Lisa Anderson, Mr Tom Betts, Mrs Aranza Blackburn, Mrs Brooke Butson, Mrs Sanya Cawson, Mrs Katrina Fisher, Mr Tim Fisher, Miss Clara Marsh, Mrs Leigh McNeil, Ms Rebecca Mills, Miss Greta Morley, Dr Kelly Murphy, Miss Kiani Raklander, Mrs Lee Robbins, Miss Naomi Robinson, Mr David Shapland, Mrs Anita Russ, and Mrs Elly Van Vliet for their efforts. I’m sure you will join me in wishing God’s richest blessings on them as they undertake the next stage of their lives.

  • Mrs Cathy Makin will take leave in 2017 to concentrate on her studies. Mrs Makin will not be completely absent from the College, and has agreed to offer Counselling in the Senior School on a part time basis.
  • Mr Richard Gazal will assist with Chaplaincy Services.
  • Mr Mario Keczan will take some well-deserved leave next year.
  • Mrs Daina McFarland will return in Term Two 2017 after a term’s long service leave.

In Term One we will welcome back Ms Karen Mackie, Miss Tracey Payne and Mr Dion Solihin from their long service leave.

On behalf of all the staff at the College, we thank you for a wonderful year. To those who are not continuing their journey at Somerset, we extend our very best wishes. To those returning in 2017, we have plans for an even better year (if that’s possible!) and I wish you and yours the happiest and holiest celebration of Christmas.
