Tennis Competition Success

Over the weekend a number of Somerset College students competed at various venues throughout South East Queensland with exceptional results.

The Swimming Gold Coast (SGC) Championships were held this past weekend at the Miami Pool with the Clubs within our Region, one of the strongest in Australia, competing for not only individual qualifying times but individual medals and an important Team Championship.
Importantly, the meets results would be combined with the SGC Relay Championships and each Club is awarded prize money based on their point score.
Somerset had over 50 swimmers registered to race over the weekend of racing and there were some very impressive results with 29 swimmers winning medals and 14 of them winning gold. A list of the bronze and silver medal winners follows: Connor Borkowsky, Brodie Brown, Bessie Dear, Cameron Donovan, Anthony Graham, Gisele Howard, Chantelle McIntosh, Emily Noyes, Isabelle Sly, Harrison Smith, Sara Tazaki, JinJin Wang, Georgia Whale, Stepan Zhigulin, Ellena Perry.
While the following swimmers won events and were Regional Champions: Narnie Berlowitz, Jaxson Brimble, Conor Brown, Riley Clout, Ky Codd, Mia Collins, Regan Leong, Yasmin Madigan, Lleyton Morgan, Brooke Otto, Jorja Otto, Adele Phillips, Leon Shirayama, Brooklyn Steele.
Congratulations to the swimmers, coaches and the parents for a great weekend of racing. It was also very pleasing to note that Somerset parents were admirably accounted for when requested to time keep.« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
