Year 8 Camp at Moreton Island
By Ella Kirk, Year 8
This year, the grade 8 cohort embarked on a journey to Moreton Island, to our camp. Despite the weather, this camp was definitely a good one.

Hummingbird House is a place where kids can be kids, families can reconnect, and precious memories can be created. At any given time around 3,700 Queensland families are living with, loving, and supporting a child or teenager with a life-limiting condition. The emotional, physical and financial struggle for these families can be immense.
Hummingbird House ensures that children can have a break from hospitals and daily routines, and that parents have the opportunity to gain a few hours of undisturbed sleep and the chance to be mum or dad to all their children rather than the exhausted 24/7 medical carer.
It costs over $3 million each year to operate Hummingbird House as a free service for Queensland families. Providing financial support, Starkey 2 and Starkey 10’s fundraiser helped towards allowing families to access Hummingbird House free of charge to help these families in need.
We raised $439 at our Ice-cream Soda Spider Stall. Thank you for your support.« Back to IndexNext article in this edition »
