On Monday March 9 Somerset College participated in the SEQ AFA School Futsal Titles. At 6.00am all players met at the drop off zone with Coach Maarten and Coach Nigel, ready to board the bus to Oxley Futsal Centre.
We nominated four teams to play in the Futsal Titles. The Under 12 Girls, Under 14 Girls, Under 13 Boys and Under 16 Boys.
The Under 13 Boys kicked off first, versus Brisbane Bayside College. The boys took the win and built up confidence for the rest of the day. Their second game versus Genesis Christian College was difficult. The game ended in a draw. Round 3 and 4 were against the same opponent. The games ended in a win and a loss. The boys finished second in their group.
The Under 16 boys played their games versus Lowood High School, MacGregor High School, Westside Christian College and Genesis Christian College. The Boys had three wins and one loss, to end third in their group.
The Under 12 Girls and Under 14 Girls played in the same group versus Mount Alvernia College, Loganlea High School, and Stretton State College. Both teams were undefeated and ended as Number 1 and 2 in their group. The Under 12 girls qualified for the finals/ knockout stage, which will take place later this month.
Our Junior Futsal teams will play March 16, for the Junior Titles.
