The 2025 school year has been off to a great start in Year 8! We started our first day back, entering our Year 8 upgraded locker room with an excited buzz in the air.
There were mixed reactions in the common room, some feeling more enthusiastic about the new year but with some missing the bright orange lockers that had become our second home and of course, the Year 7 ping-pong table. The new lockers that had been built for us over the holidays with space for our sports bags were a great welcome back to the College.
Soon it was time to greet the new students joining our cohort, meeting up with our friends along the way. After assembly and our welcome from our new Headmaster, we went to the Ray Dining Room as a year level to talk about our values, expectations - and having fun in 2025. We learnt about trying our best and building each other up - our cohort theme and goal for 2025.
Later in the day, we had our pastoral care groups, met the new Year 7 students joining our group, with some of us even having new PC tutors! Meeting the new Year 7s was nostalgic knowing we were them last year. We also met our new classmates and teachers for the year.
Being in Year 8 is unbelievable. We know the year is going to go by so fast.
