Three representatives from our Bibliotheca Committee; Shay, Joanne and Emmanuelle (Year 11) visited the kids at Mudgeeraba Special School with three big boxes of gifts this week. Commissions from our recent Scholastic Book Fair enabled us to purchase $500 worth of toys, books, games and sports equipment to support our Service Learning Programme, Mudgee Kids, in addition to our $2000 donation to the Room to Read organisation.

As an International Baccalaureate School, Somerset’s ethos is to promote opportunities for students to become active and caring members of local, national and global communities and here in the KIP, we love being able to put a little joy in the lives of other children in our community.

We are also busily adding dozens of new books from the Book Fair to our Junior School Library collection so they will be ready for borrowing. We encourage students to come and borrow before next Friday because holidays are so much better with books!

Thank you once again to everyone in the Somerset Community who supported our Book Fair this year. Your contributions really do go a long way to help so many children, here in Mudgeeraba and around the world.
