Recently, the Year 10 Drama students were privileged to have Travis Dowling (Associate Director of Queensland Theatre) visit the College and work exclusively with them on an upcoming performance. Throughout the morning, students workshopped ways to extract meaning from a text and, as a result, engaged in meaningful discussion about the ideas they were trying to grapple.
Under the guidance of Travis, students then transitioned these ideas into the foundations of a performance, exploring the way movement can convey a sense of place without the need for set pieces, props or technical components (such as lighting and sound).
Students will continue to work on this performance piece and next term, will present their work to a select group of schools and industry professionals in Brisbane.
We wish them well!
