On Sunday of week 6, Somerset hosted the first Future Stars Tournament of the year. The future stars event is a great way for young players in grade 3 and below to get to know how tournaments work and show off their tennis skills!
In the Red Ball, we had Benedict Thompson, Henry Pevy, Zhander Griffiths and Louis Hodge compete. The boys played some awesome tennis and were able to get fourth place out of the five teams, who had some exceptional players. Louis Hodge was able to take home the Sportsmanship Award. An awesome memory for his first tournament! Well done!
In the Orange Ball, Ling Rostas, Jack Pluss, Lucy Pluss and Paxton Ryan competed for Somerset. These students played some of the best tennis out of all the teams on the day, narrowly missing out on first place by one point. Once again, an amazing achievement for Somerset.
It was an amazing day filled with some awesome tennis and excellent weather. We’d like to thank all of the parents for making the time available to take their children to this event and also the coaches from KDV, XLR8 Tennis, KO Tennis and Platinum Tennis for assisting in scoring and assisting in the set up and pack up of the event!
