Students from Years 7 to 12 slept rough at school this term as part of the Homeless Sleepout to raise funds. Before a night in the cold, the students spent the evening serving meals with local charity Walk with Us in Burleigh.
The group's fundraising efforts of almost $9000 will to towards the purchase of Backpack Beds and Fire Retardant Polar Fleece Sleeping Bags for those experiencing homelessness or who are without shelter across the Gold Coast and interstate.
By way of reflection, students ended the evening by writing a letter to a Backpack Bed recipient.
