Our first major Carnival of the year has come and gone; however the smiles on the student's faces are still beaming.
Our Junior School Spartans from Years 4 to 6 impressed in their 50m and 25m races in the Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly, and Freestyle with some students even battling the 100m Freestyle at this year's Inter-House Swimming Carnival.
Volunteers from the Somerset Parents' and Friends' Association cooked up some delicious food. There's no doubt the Snow Cone sales went through the roof as it was a warm day.
This year we included a participation floaty relay race, there were lolly pops, crocodiles, ice creams, and watermelons, among other things being raced by our Spartans to break up the competition.
We had some amazing individual achievements with Scarlett Hasselle and Harry Scarr breaking the Girls and Boys 25m Butterfly record respectively and, the 12 Years Boys Starkey Relay team swimming an outstanding 2:32.03, breaking the old record from 2016 by 10 seconds!
The following students also had some amazing results being crowned Age Champion in their respective age/gender:
Congratulations students!
The Champion House from the day was Andrews, who did an exceptional job all day, holding onto first place from the first points update to the last. Congratulations, Andrews!
A massive thank you to our P&F, our spectators for attending and supporting our swimmers, and to all the staff who made the day possible.
