A group of Somerset students took a break from their studies last Sunday morning when they attended the Indigenous Diggers Remembrance Ceremony at Burleigh. The event was held at the Yugambeh War Memorial on Jebbribillum Bora Ground and was well attended by the Gold Coast community with children being well represented.
The service this year reflected on 100 years of ANZAC history and the end of the Great War. The gathering heard Mr Des Crump from the State Library of Queensland share the indigenous story of WWI.
College Captains, Kydra Walden and Alexandra Gerrard laid a wreath on behalf of our community.
