Five Somerset Students represented the College at the Brisbane International Trials on Tuesday 28 August . Only three schools entered in the Grade 5 and under bracket which where, Coombabah State School and Saint Francis Xavier, Runaway Bay.

Our team did exceptionally well not dropping a set for the whole day! In the end Somerset won 96 games and only dropped five games, an outstanding achievement.

Now the boys will compete in the State Championships in January.

Well done to:

  • Fynn Busuttin
  • Hamish Kennedy
  • Orion Burdett
  • Kaii Norman
  • Sasha Hanford

In addition, on Sunday 2 September we had some students competing in the OTC at Beenleigh.

We had six students competing on the day and they did extremely well!

  • Liam O’Nuallian took out first place.
  • Kona Baldock finished second.
  • Ethan Stewart finished third.
  • Kaii Norman finished forth and also won the best effort award!
  • Jamie Batho finished fifth in his first tournament.
  • Sasha Hanford finished eighth and also won the sportsmanship award.

What a great effort by our young stars. There is one Orange Ball Tournament left on Sunday 28 October.
